BOISE - In his announcement, Senator Burgoyne said "I will
continue to work with the people of District 16 and the rest of Idaho to ramp up our economy and provide the
broadest possible economic prosperity for our citizens. This means building strong educational
and professional-technical programs for our citizens and their children; and
wisely investing in broadband, public transportation and other infrastructure
needs.
Senator Burgoynes record includes improved education and
workforce training; protecting our environment; fighting for human rights;
keeping public lands open to all Idahoans; protecting the disabled, the elderly
and other vulnerable citizens; making our government more fair, transparent,
accountable, responsive, efficient and less costly; and opposing pay to play
special interest politics.
Senator Burgoyne plans to
introduce a bill this session that expands protections for the victims of
stalking and harassment, and is working on legislation to drive down the cost
of higher education for our students and their families.
District 16 includes Boises State Street corridor from 28th
Street to Glenwood Street, Boises Fairview and Mountain View Drive corridors
from the Orchard Street area to Maple Grove, and all of Garden City. The Primary Election is on May 17, 2015
and the General Election is on November 8, 2016.
